Help is near!  Elder Services in the Concord Area

Health and Wellness

The Concord Regional Visiting Nurses provide home health care, assistance with personal hygene, etc.  They offer Senior Health Clinics at various locations in the area. 

Riverbend Elder Services helps seniors suffering from depression and other mental illness.

If you are concerned that your loved one is not making meals or eating properly, consider Meals on Wheels.  They deliver lunch and/or dinner once a day in convenient, microwaveable containers.   There is asset or income eligibility and the cost is on a sliding scale.

Commodities Assistance  This program offers food to income eligible seniors.  The monthly food package provides a variety of foods such as cereal, nonfat dry and evaporated milk, juice, rice, pasta, egg mix, peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, canned meat, poultry or tune, and cheese


Area assisted living and nursing homes

Affordable housing for the elderly at Horseshoe Pond Place

The Community Action Program offers fuel assistance and other benefits to low-income seniors.

Volunteers with  The Fix-it Program  rake lawns, clean attics, wash windows, paint, remove or install window air conditioners, - you name it.  This is a great program!


Senior Companions ease loneliness and promote well-being in at least three distinct ways:  they boost self-esteem;  they help clients solve problems;  and they provide personal assistance with daily tasks.   These volunteers are not home health aides or housekeepers. They are friends and companions.

Sunset Club for seniors meets twice a month at the Green Street Community Center

The Concord Regional Visiting Nurses Association offers Adult Grief Support Groups



The Concord Public Library offers free passes to local museums as well as   free downloadable audio books

Subscribe to Netflix and have DVDs delivered to the home!

Osher Life Long Learning Institute at Granite State College offers inexpensive, interesting courses for seniors.

The Gile's Concerts are a local treasure.

The Capital Center for the Arts Daytime Series  offers top-quality entertainment for only $6.00!
